* It’s true *
I refused to sign a pledge regarding term limits. I am in favor of term limits, but it has been brought to my attention that a Constitutional Convention to achieve this is a possible threat to the Second Amendment.
I cannot in good faith sign both pledges to the National Association of Gun Rights and US Term Limits because they contradict one another (click for more info), and I have given my word that I will do whatever it takes to protect our gun rights.
I’m not your typical politician. I had to take a stand - and I stood with the 2nd Amendment.
We are talking about opening up our constitution - that’s not something to be taken lightly in today’s political climate. The National Association of Gun Rights, constitutional attorneys, and many other sources have made it clear that the convention required for term limits must not be taken lightly. I don’t feel comfortable obligating myself to anything like this until I can be sure this will not be used by the left as a Trojan Horse.
Thank you all for your continued support, and for your vote on Oct 12th.
